WeatherInfo ("we", "our", or "us") provides the WeatherInfo mobile application (the "App"). This page explains our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our App.

1. Information Collection and Use For a better experience while using our App, we may ask you to provide certain information. The information we request is saved directly on your device and is not collected by us on our servers.

  • Location Data: The App needs access to your device’s location (precise or approximate) to show you hyper-local weather forecasts, air quality (AQI) data, and rain alerts for your exact area.

    • Location data is used to fetch weather updates for your current location.

    • We do not save your location history on our servers.

    • You can turn location services on or off at any time from your mobile settings.

  • Search History: The App saves your recent city searches locally on your phone using Android DataStore so you can search faster next time. This data stays on your phone and is never sent to us.

2. Third-Party Service Providers We use trusted third-party services that may collect information to help the App run smoothly, provide weather data, or show advertisements. The App uses:

  • Google Play Services: Used for basic app stability and location features.

  • WeatherAPI.com: Used to get live weather data. The App sends your city name or location coordinates to them to fetch the forecast.

  • Advertising Networks (e.g., Google AdMob): We may use third-party ad networks to show advertisements. These services may use an advertising ID from your device to show ads that are relevant to you.

  • Push Notification Services: Used to send you alerts for sudden rain or severe weather updates.

3. Log Data and Errors Whenever you use our App, if the app crashes or faces an error, we collect data on your phone called Log Data to help us fix the issue. This Log Data may include your device's IP address, phone model, operating system version, the time and date of the crash, and other simple statistics.

4. Security We value your trust in our App. We use standard, acceptable methods to protect your data. However, please remember that no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Children’s Privacy Our App is not made for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we find out that a child under 13 has given us personal information, we will delete it immediately.
